In Angola, priestly ordination of Father Manuel Ndala

In Angola, Sunday 21/04/2024, 4th Easter Sunday dedicated to the Good Shepherd and priestly vocations and consecrated life in general, Dom Leopoldo Ndakalako, Bishop of Menongue, presided over the Eucharistic celebration of the closing week of the vocation campaign in his diocese. During this Mass, the deacon Manuel Ndala, Oblate missionary of Mary Immaculate, was ordained a priest as the first religious priest in the diocese of Menongue.

The Bishop of Menongue expressed his wish to see the Oblate Missionaries of Mary Immaculate established in her diocese.


25 priests concelebrated at Mass, including 8 Oblates including Father Guillaume Muthunda, provincial vicar of the Oblates of the Congo who presented the candidate; David Ibwidi, Superior of the Oblates in Angola; Maurus, IMO Provincial Councillor of Namibia, who guided the first steps in the vocation of Manuel Ndaka; Apint Adelard , trainee coach, who dressed the candidate; Didier Mupaya came specifically from Kinshasa for this event; Paulo Pindali, Joseph Ntumba, Sebastião Nzir, Max of Namibia.

Our faithful ensured an active presence with 70 members of the delegation of Kaluheke (900 kms from Menongue), a lay associate (AMMI) of Luanda.

Mass was sung by the small seminarians and aspirants to consecrated life. Members of Father Manuel Ndala's biological family came from Cuangar (300 kms) and Namibia with enthusiasm. A host of nuns from the different congregations of the diocese of Menongue and Rundu (Namíbia) were present.

Note that Father Manuel Ndala will celebrate his first Masses on 28/4 in Cuangar and 02/06 in Kaluheke.
