The process of taking over the new provincial superior, Father Constant Kienge-Kienge, came to an end with the first meeting of the provincial council from October 23 to 30. Father Joseph Ntumba, former provincial superior, participated in part with the members of the former provincial council. The transfer of service was thus completed. And the new provincial council, with two members from the old one, can move forward on any initiative.
The first decisions of the provincial council included the assignment of certain members to certain services. A decision to be noted is the convening by the provincial superior of a Provincial Assembly. It will meet in Ifwanzondo, in the diocese of Idiofa, 26 February to 2 March 2024, all Oblates of the Province of Congo. The objective of this meeting is determined by the Constitutions and Rules:
« For the better participation of all in the life and mission of the Province, the Provincial in Council will: establish advisory commissions, whose composition, functions and scope of competence will be determined; organize regular meetings with local superiors of the Province; will organize at least once during his term of office, taking into account needs and opportunities, a provincial congress or assembly, to promote a common vision and establish common principles that will guide the mission. » (C. 108)
