On Saturday, October 21, in the chapel of the scholasticate Saint Eugene de Mazenod of Kinshasa-Kintambo, Father Joseph Ntumba presided at the Mass during which he installed his successor, Father Constant Kienge-Kienge.

In the homily, provincial superior Joseph Ntumba insisted on the free service to be rendered, according to the meaning of the proclaimed Bible texts. The new provincial declared his profession of faith, promising to respect the Catholic faith and Magisterium of the Church as well as the demands of the Congregation of the Oblate Missionaries of Mary Immaculate.

The six members of the provincial council also took office: David Ibwidi, Guillaume Muthunda, Cyrille Mpuki, Jean-Pierre Bwalwel, Thomas Mukiramfi and Gabriel Matakumba.

Father Kienge-Kienge pronounced his word of circumstance as a plan of action based on synodality in service. He promised to lead his confreres towards the expected fulfilment of their vocation as consecrated and missionaries of the poor, in view of the Constitutions and Rules of the Congregation and the last General Chapter held in September-October 2022, the theme of which was: « Pilgrims of Hope in Communion ».

The new provincial also indicated two perspectives to which the Oblates set their gaze: the celebration in 2026 of the 200 years of the Constitutions and Rules of the Congregation and the centenary of the Oblate presence in Congo in 2031.
At the end of the Mass, the new provincial superior thanked the outgoing provincial superior and the members of the former provincial council. Some are also present in the new council.

The new provincial also thanked all his confreres and the assembly made up of members of the great Mazenodian family of Kinshasa, not to mention the association of the former Oblates.
The new provincial also gave, on behalf of the Province of Congo, a symbolic gift to his predecessor.
