Oblate Brother Dieudonné Mbiki becomes a doctor

Brother Dieudonné Mbiki was sworn in on Monday, July 1. Provincial superior Constant Kienge-Kienge congratulated him. And the feast was celebrated at the scholasticate of Saint Eugene de Mazenod of Kinshasa-Kintambo. Timothy Bunkatu testifies.

It was around 9:30 a.m. that Brother Dieudonné Mbiki came out of the walls of the scholasticate Saint Eugene de Mazenod, where he had resided for nearly two months, to go to the Institut National Pilote d'Enseignement des Sciences de Santé (INPESS), for his oath as a doctor.

With the road clear, it was after 30 minutes that Brother Mbiki, together with the superior of the scholasticate, Father Gabriel Matakumba, who is his novitiate promotion colleague, crossed the barrier of the institute.
Regarding the initial programme, the ceremony, chaired by the National President of the Medical Association, began at 1.30 p.m.
A total of 500 doctors were sworn in eight times. It was in an indescribable atmosphere that all the families who accompanied them waited outside for the new doctors.
To the Oblates present, the brother's biological family was associated.
It was after almost 4am, at 5pm, that the procession of the doctor Dieudonné Mbiki left the walls of the Institute to return to the scholasticate Saint Eugene de Mazenod.

In the scholasticate, the superior provincial father, Constant Kienge-Kienge, and other confreres warmly congratulated Brother Dieudonné Mbiki.
To mark the day in particular, a drink of friendship was shared in the community's dining room.
