The « Oblate Brotherhood ». Theme of the retreat preached from 3 to 8 December in Ifwanzondo, in the province of Kwilu, by the Oblate Father of Cameroon Ferdinand Owono, superior of the Province of Cameroon.
The Oblates came from the Dioceses of Idiofa and Kikwit as well as from the Archdiocese of Kinshasa and the Diocese of Isangi, in the province of Tshopo.
The Constitution 35 of the Oblates provides for annual retirement as a « renewal time » :
« In order to be ever more willing to serve God in his people, they will reserve each month and every year strong moments of personal and community prayer, reflection and renewal. The annual retreat, of an ordinary duration of one week, may be preceded or followed by fraternal meetings and exchanges on apostolic experiences. »
