Profession of faith and oath of fidelity of the new superior of the Oblate community of the parish of Saint-Eloi in Kinshasa-Barumbu, Father Adolphe Vunga, parish priest. The provincial superior of the Oblates of the Province of Congo (RDC-Angola), Father Constant Kienge-Kienge, installed on Friday, September 26, 2025, the new superior and his two councillors (and vicars), Fathers Roland Dikelele and Mathieu Bundu.
In other communities too
The installation ceremony took place after the homily of the Mass celebrated for the occasion. As he did yesterday to the neighbouring community of the Provincial House, where he installed Father Jean-Baptiste Malenge as new superior and Fathers Joseph Mukongo and Modeste Tembo as advisers, and as he will do tomorrow and the day after tomorrow in other communities in Kinshasa and later elsewhere, Father Kienge-Kienge explained the meaning of this ceremony including the profession of the Catholic faith and the swearing in of fidelity to the teaching of the Church and to pastors.

Participation in Government
90% of a consecrated person's life takes place in his community, the basic unit of the congregation. Before the provincial superior and the superior general, it is therefore the local superior who knows the consecrated person daily and responds to her. The local superior is thus a member of the government of a religious congregation. He commits himself in conscience to this responsibility to animate the community of his brothers who owe him obedience in the name of God's will.

Father Kienge-Kienge referred to article 85 of the Constitutions and Rules of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate and number 627 of the Code of Canon Law.
