Oblate Fathers Willy Bunduki and Bosco Mikwa solemnly received a new chasuble and a new sudan on Saturday, July 18, 2026 in the chapel of the scholasticate of Saint Eugene de Mazenod of Kintambo-Kinshasa during the celebration of the 25 years of priesthood for one and the 25 years of consecrated life for the other. Father Willy Bunduki also represented his fellow student, Father Jean-Pierre Lwele, a missionary in Namibia, and Father Bosco Mikwa, his fellow students Jean-Philippe Sukari, a missionary in Kenya and Patrick Katobo, a missionary in Namibia.
The provincial superior, Father Constant Kienge-Kienge, presented the gifts in the name of the entire Oblate Province of Congo with the wish to see the jubilaries renewed by remembering the first day of their commitment to the priesthood and consecrated life. Before the provincial superior, the two jubilaries present renewed the promises made in 2021 during priestly ordination for one and in the first religious profession for the other.
Humility and conversion
At the homily, the provincial superior congratulated the jubilaries for their fidelity to Oblate charism He recalled the community nature of the religious and Oblate vocation. He urged us to accept in humility, simplicity and proximity to the poor and to honour the sense of belonging to the Oblate Province of Congo-Angola to live there daily the beauty of fraternity despite limitations.
On behalf of the jubilaries, Father Bosco Mikwa thanked God, master of all vocations, and the Congregation of Oblates, the trainers, the condisciples of the novitiate, in particular, relatives and friends.
Neither point of arrival nor personal success
Father Mikwa recalled that the 25 years of consecrated life or priesthood are not a point of arrival or personal success, since it is more necessary to evaluate one's personal life in humility and start a process of rebirth and start anew.
« We experienced the love of the Lord, with success and failure ». Father Mikwa also sought the mercy of all and offered forgiveness to those who needed it. And he said how the Jubilee celebration of religious and priestly commitments has reinvigorated attachment to the Congregation of the Missionary Oblates and the Province of Congo. Father Mikwa asked for everyone's prayer as the best gift.
