The new superior of the community Saint Joseph of Mwembe has been installed

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, a Mass was said in the courtyard of the community of Saint Joseph of Mwembe (province of Kasai, diocese of Idiofa) during which the Provincial Superior of Congo, Father Constant Kienge-Kienge, proceeded to the installation of the local superior of this community, Father Dominique Kimani.

Brother Constantine Etshime and some of Mwembe's faithful took part in the Eucharistic celebration as well as the community of the congregation of the Friends of Christ Sisters of Luebo.

The Mass was concelebrated by Abbé Rodin Kambembe, coordinator of the Catholic schools, from the nearby parish of Mapangu; Father Alex Manyanga, outgoing vicar; deacon François-Xavier Makanda and new superior, Father Dominique Kimani.

It should be noted that during his stay in Mwembe, Father Constant Kienge-Kienge was able to gather at the tomb of Father Charles Rommens. The Belgian Oblate missionary was murdered by a thief on November 11, 1972.
