Bishop Charles Ndaka, one of the three auxiliary bishops and vicar general of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa, has just presided over the Mass opening the vigil at the funeral of Father Anaclet Dupar, Oblate of Mary Immaculate, parish priest Saint-Philippe of Kinshasa. Father Dupar, who died on 19 August, will be buried tomorrow 28 August 2026.
Here are some words about homily:
Death always surprises us, surprises us. While she's still here. We have the advantage of having Christ, whose word consoles us. He is the way, the truth and the life.
Talking about death is difficult. But let us listen with the ears of faith. Death is a call. Everywhere, no matter what the circumstances, we will respond. God calls us. We won't escape.
The death of Father Anaclet Dupar is a surprise to many. Let us always prepare for most of our lives.

Let us have some motivation in the life of faith, despite our fragility. In hope and faith, we believe that Father Dupar, a priest, who received the sacraments, including the priesthood, received to perpetuate the presence of the Lord through a given life.
Father Dupar celebrated every day to manifest to the people the love of Christ. Ndaka drew attention to the fact that the death of one of his servants should not be separated from the Lord. The death of consecrated persons must not separate us from the love of Christ. Let us not use the secular language which speaks of « loss ». Faith tells us that there is life after death.

Let us pray for our brother. Let us ask for God's mercy. And let us pray that we are not distracted in this world.
May the Virgin Mary pray for us all and console us!
