Former Oblate cook Stéphane Kiteke, alias PEM, died in Kikwit

Stéphane KITEKE Mbembe, alias Pem, has been buried in Idiofa since Tuesday, February 6, 2024, after the funeral Mass and the absout celebrated in the parish church of St.Charles Lwanga of Idiofa by Oblate Father Deogratias Kingenge. He died in Kikwit-Kikoti, in the Hospital of the Sisters of the Poor in Bergamo.

Born in Musenge Munene in the parish of Ngoso on June 5, 1957, he served the Oblate missionaries of Mary Immaculate from the age of 20. For 42 years, from 1977 to his retirement in 2019, he learned his profession and was the Oblate cook first at the Intshwem community and then at the prenovitiate Blessed Joseph Gérard of Saint Charles Lwanga parish of Idiofa.

Oblate prenovices animated the songs during Mass. Oblate lay associates participated as well as many parish faithful. After Mass, Fr. Kingenge, some members of the deceased's family and some friends led the remains to the cemetery « Ibalayam » for burial.
