Oblates greeted by Bishop Idiofa at the centenary of Mwilambongo

Oblate missionaries were at the centre of the homily of Monsignor Joseph Moko, bishop of Idiofa, during the centenary Mass of the parish of St. Theresa, Child Jesus of Mwilambongo, celebrated on the Sunday of the Assumption, August 16, 2026. The bishop expressed to them the gratitude of the diocese for their missionary work and urged them to remain upright, faithful to the heritage of their predecessors.

Monsignor Moko invited the provincial superior of Oblate missionaries and his colleagues to pursue their mission with courage, remaining worthy of those who preceded them. Taking a formula dear to the Oblates, he appealed to them: « Dare great as the world ».

The bishop of Idiofa also greeted the provincial superior of the Salesian Sisters of the Visitation and his sisters, associated with this pastoral work. Through his homily, he reminded the missionaries and the faithful that the evangelization received from the elders must continue in fidelity, responsibility and witness.

Monsignor Joseph Moko finally recalled the four « wheels » evangelizing action inherited from the elders: the Church, school, health and social development. He invited the assembly to confide in the example and intercession of the Virgin Mary, in order to resist discouragement, fear and all that hinders Christian witness.
