This Sunday, May 10, 2026, in Songololo (Kongo-central province), in the courtyard of the Catholic parish church St. Joseph, Christians of Protestant and Catholic parishes, as well as the « curious » gathered in the afternoon to celebrate Easter.
This is following the « Week of Prayer for Christian Unity », celebrated from the 4th to the 18th of March (instead of the 18th to the 25th of January as elsewhere) that initiatives were adopted by the leaders of these parishes in and around Songololo : Baptist Community in Congo (CBCO)/Songolo-City, (CBCO)/Songolo-Gare, Evangelical Community of Congo (CCC)/Songolo-City, Community of Assemblies of God in Congo (CADC)/Songolo-City, Reformation/Km5 and Catholic.

Gathered around their pastors, after the opening prayer and the welcome of the president of the ecumenical committee, the choirs of the parishes performed, one after another, songs and songs of Easter, to the joy of all the assembly.
After this moment of praise, a preaching took place on the last judgment, taken from Matthew 25,31-45. Today's speaker, Reverend Pastor Blessing Luwila of the Reformation, focused his message on the imperative of helping the needy of all kinds. Not only with money, but especially with his heart and all his heart. He also invited the assembly to a universal brotherhood.

After the preaching, we went on a quest for prisoners. Money, food and clothing were collected.
On Wednesday, 13 May, a committee composed of members of the various churches will visit the central prison in Songololo to visit and feed the prisoners.

Finally, in a charismatic momentum, we have raised our prayers to the Lord for prisoners, for justice in our country.
These initiatives include:
1. « Celebrate Easter » in favour of prisoners,
2. « Salongo » (public cleaning) » in favour of the city during the dry season,
3. A football tournament for young people from different parishes next September,
4. « Celebrate Christmas » in favour of the sick in December 2026, before meeting for the « Week of Prayers for Christian Unity ».
